2009 Breakfast with Santa & New Boston Police Department Toy Program Huge Success

As we wind down 2009 I want to first thank everyone for the privilege of being your councilman this past year and secondly to tell you how very proud I am to be part of this community with all of you.

New Boston once again took the lead this Christmas season in showing what the true meaning of the holiday is. On December 6, Mayor Warren and the Village put on the annual Breakfast with Santa at the New Boston Community Center. Employees from the Police, Fire and Service departments, Village Council, along with community volunteers prepared and served pancakes and sausage for over 500 people, adults and children. The meals were free and Santa and Mrs. Claus met with children throughout the morning.

On December 22, employees of the Police, Fire and Service departments, along with Santa Claus, took to the streets with several hundred gifts knocking on doors throughout the village. Money for these gifts came from generous contributions from local motorcycle clubs, churches, civic clubs, Masonic Lodges, area businesses, and private citizens.

Both of these events provided what otherwise may have been a "empty" Christmas to children and adults throughout our community a holiday to remember. I would like to take this time to thank everyone who helped make these two unselfish undertakings such a huge success. I especially want to thank the Police, Fire and Service Departments of our village for their unselfish time and dedication as well as the volunteers who helped Breakfast with Santa and also those who spent many hours wrapping the presents that were delivered throughout the community. You can view pictures of both of these events at the village website...www.newbostonvillage.com
